The Daily Mile
The aim of the Daily Mile is to improve the physical, mental, emotional and social health and wellbeing of our children –regardless of age or personal circumstances.
From September 2016, all classes at Worsley Mesnes Primary School have been taking part in 'The Daily Mile'. The children and teachers either walk or run a mile around the playground every single day. Each class completes the mile at different times throughout the day, following the footsteps marked out on the playground to help guide them round their 6 laps.
The children are currently using multi-link cubes to help them complete the mile. On each lap they collect a multi-link cube from a member of staff with the aim of collecting all 6 cubes and therefore completing their mile. The cubes help the children to keep track of which lap they are on and gives them something visual to work towards.
